Daphne Finlayson, from Hamilton shares with us a bit about her garden.

"The main problems to deal with in the garden are the rabbits and hares, but that's all part of country living. It's amazing how they love the new growth on my carpet roses! I have a large garden with different "rooms" or themes, with a Perfumed garden, a Formal garden, a large, English Country garden, a Lavender garden and a native garden as well as many pots with bits and pieces in.
The formal garden's internal hedges are upright rosemary, with Cystis (pink and white), lavender, apple blossom carpet roses, bedding dahlias, "First Light" hebes, and large, very dark red dahlias in the triangular sections. The hedge at the back is Totara, with Mountain Green Pittosporums on the sides, and Early Pearly Camellias along the front. I have a statue of St Fiacre, the patron saint of gardening in the centre."
