For 30 years I have not been able to control cane borer in my currants until this year, when I clobbered the lot in September with a liberal application of several handfuls of Neem Tree Granules. (Crushed kernels of the Neem Tree)
This year's growth is one hundred percent free from the problem, so next year there should be no loss of fruit from heavily laden branches breaking in the wind because the borer had weakened the stems. Better growth for next years fruit has also been a positive result.
